A universal IoT PHY?

Greenwaves believes its GreenOFDM can provide a software modem capable of handling any networking protocol running up to 10 Mbits/second. It targets emerging LTE Category M and Wi-Fi HaLow and believes it could unify the fragmented set of less demanding low power wide area (LPWA) networks such as Sigfox and LoRa.

The company claims the code delivers a ten-fold improvement in performance-per watt compared to traditional OFDM software enabling lower power transmitters and more sensitive receivers. It could cut energy use 100-fold compared to emerging LPWA networks given GreenOFDM needs significantly less air time.
