GreenWaves Technologies to Present at First Annual RISC-V Summit

GreenWaves Also to Exhibit as Part of the Two-Day Exhibition Hall

WHO: Eric Flamand, Chief Technology Officer at GreenWaves Technologies, will be presenting at the first annual RISC-V Summit as part of the conference’s RISC-V Accelerators track.

WHAT: Eric’s session, “Extending the RISC-V ISA for Optimized Support of CNNs in a Multi-Core Context,” will showcase how extensions are bringing a significant performance/energy boost compared to the base RISC-V instruction set architecture (ISA) for Deep/Convolutional Neural Network (DNN/CNN) applications by combining Digital Signal Processing (DSP) related extensions with advanced Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) capability. It will address in detail the optimization process that led to the GAP8 ISA extension definition as well as how such an extended core can be used efficiently in a multiple core shared memory models using CNN/DNN applications as a driving use case. Finally, the session will illustrate the capability of the GAP8 multiple core system-on-chip (SoC) on some real-life medium complexity CNNs.

GreenWaves will also be demonstrating use cases created with GAP8 in the exhibition area at the Summit.

WHEN: Tuesday, Dec. 4 from 4:55-5:25 p.m. PT

WHERE: RISC-V Summit

Santa Clara Convention Center
5001 Great America Pkwy
Santa Clara, Calif., 95054
