How does GreenOFDM work ?
OFDM is the most effective technique for high speed wireless data transfer. But it suffers from a high PAPR.
GreenOFDM Technology overcomes this drawback and achieves a PAPR down to its asymptotic limit.
However, it suffers from a high PAPR that implies a high energy consumption and thus prevents its use for IoT communications on years-long button batteries.
GreenOFDM technology overcomes this major drawback while preserving all the fundamental attributes of the OFDM modulation. This is achieved by using a disruptive invention applied to the well-known SeLective Mapping (SLM) technique that we name the GreenOFDM eXtreme SLM (XSLM) technique.
GreenOFDM eXtreme SeLective Mapping
GreenOFDM implements eXtreme SeLective Mapping (XSLM) at ultra low complexity providing a 10x smaller consumption as compared with classical SLM. A larger scalar reduction factor can even be obtained according to system parameters and performances.
Optimum PAPR Reduction
Compared to all major PAPR reduction techniques that currently exist, GreenOFDM-XSLM (eXtreme SeLective Mapping) achieves the maximum reduction of PAPR.
Green-OFDM offers as well a large trade-off space between ranges and data rates while still minimising the power consumption to its asymptotic limit.
GreenOFDM runs in software on GAP8, GreenWaves Technologies’ industry first IoT processor. This system is developed under the HEASIT project, which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 709841
